Fighting the Grey: Wisconsin Springtime by MOX Chase
About the Artist
MOX Chase is a contemporary abstract expressionist and impressionist painter whose work explores the deep connection between color, movement, and emotion. Born and raised on both the East and West coasts of the United States and now based in Wisconsin, MOX creates art that is as layered and dynamic as the landscapes and people who have shaped her journey.

MOX has synesthesia, so she experiences the world through a vivid interplay of senses—letters, numbers, people, places, music, and emotions are all imbued with color. This unique perspective transforms into paintings alive with vibrant hues and fluid motion, inviting viewers to step inside the emotional resonance of each piece.

MOX studied at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts before pursuing further education and a career as a licensed psychotherapist. Her work in both private practice and with forensic populations introduced her to many “colorful characters,” whose stories and energies often find their way into MOX’s artistic process.

Through an intuitive blend of abstraction and impressionism, MOX Chase creates artwork that stirs feelings beyond what meets the eye and captures the spirit of emotion itself.
